Makeup Tag (Updated!)

The last makeup tag was ages ago and somehow my makeup bag has upgraded itself since last. Thanks Reyna for two tags in a row and I shall do the other one right after I finish this one. News flash though - I ain't tagging anyone below this so don't search for names or links ;) because I know how much of a hassle it is to keep people happy. If anyone feels the need to splurge thoughts on their makeup feel free to do it - I encourage you full-heartedly! It shows how girls shall always be girls and makeup does everyone's heads in a bit, I suppose.

How long does it take you to put on your makeup anytime of the day?
About an hour or two. Does not matter cause I have all the time in the world to slap makeup on. I'm even thinking of doing it for a living and charge people ridiculous invisible tags like RM650 for a makeover sessh like the one by Matahari in Harper's Bazaar two months ago! Suckers.

Brand Me: What is your favourite brand for .... (in particular order!)

In Your Makeup Bag : Do you have .... if so, what kind of .... Lipstick?

The LE Viva Glam three-way palette which I've been saving up forever in Viva Glam V and VI inclusive of Viva Glam V lip gloss! It comes in an uber cute-sort-of-grotesque package as well. Too bad M.A.C comes up with collections like these once in a lifetime.

Sweet Seductions from M.A.C Ornamentalism Holiday 2005 Collection which I sort of stole off my Mummy cause she does not fancy it anymore.

All my Viva Glam collection in single sticks - the colours are so divine. I hope they never discontinue the making otherwise I'd have a hard time trying to look for substitute colours!

Of course the Bobbi Brown Nude Lip Palette is a must have for my makeup bag though the colours dont stay on for long and I have to re-apply throughout the day and I get so sick of it hence less holes in the mini boxes!

An add to my collection after Mum got back from hols - the M.A.C Fafi Lipstick in Fun N' Sexy, not really my colour and I was pretty shocked when I opened the package cause it was so bright and sassy. I dont use it at all but I carry it around everywhere, beats you? Beats me too!

Lipgloss?

The famous vavavoom Stila Lip Glaze in assorted colours! I've managed to collect these random few ever since it was first launched in 2003 : Berry, Strawberry, Black Cherry, Watermelon, Sugar Plum, Praline, Fruit Punch, Guava, Banana, Mocha and Cinnamon. I've lost a few but the rest are still neatly tucked away in my makeup case.

The Dior Kiss Mini Trio which I got from Mum last 3 years or so ago? And yes, I still have them in Red Currant, Cotton Candy and Lemon Sherbet. I've never used the full-on tubes since I still have these teeny weeny ones, will try to get some when I remember cause we, after all, have a Dior cosmetic counter around. Notice the little Dior charm on top - to die for!

The infamous Dior necklace cum lip gloss. Also a birthday present from Mum in Bronze. I know some people who dont use it but since my youngest sister punctured a hole in mine I decided to just use and wear it at the same time. The colour doesn't stay on long though but I guess having the case itself is worth it.

M.A.C Lipglass! Heavenly in everything lip worthy. I've collected these babies in Avarice, 24k Gold, C-thru, Coral, Full On Lust, Nico Now, Spirited, Be Seen and Real Desire. More to come definitely since I've been putting on wads of gloss on for the past few months and I'm afraid the ones I have left can barely make it throughout the year.

Mascara?

BeneFit's Bad Gal Lash which I mentioned in a tag earlier on before this one. I swear this is the best mascara made (THAT or my lashes really seem to be longer than it should be) cause it gives this extra, extra long lasting feel - it goes off easily with makeup remover and remover alone!

Dior Show Water-proof (sweat, love, fire proof too) in Black Out Noir. Extending seems to be such a hassle and this one works just as well!

Bobbi Brown Everything Mascara in Black. So divine if it was in a candy coated package I would have eaten it up already.

Then, there's always the semi-professional sort of mascara in all my makeup bags - some I get for free after purchasing so many and of course in the little starter-intro packs. M.A.C Pro Lash has been a favourite since the second I laid eyes on mascara. (Not that I need help in the Lash department but it just does not feel as bulky and spidery like the cheap ones)

Urban Decay's Big Fatty Mascara - the new package is wicked and revamped! I was down to my last tube which I bought pretty cheap in Australia, cost me only AUD$6 or so from a local convenient store. Lol. And I think mine was expired cause the package I bought it in was pink and black, hardly noticeable at all!

Eyeliner?

Typically I would say any kind as long as it's black but right now I've had this sudden craze for coloured liquid eyeliner too and I'm bound to get my hands on some soon when I jet off for hols end of this month. I wont post pictures of eyeliners because I've got one kind in assorted colours - so you imagine. If you still have the urge to know, my very starting-to-get-short-and-stubby eye pencils/kohl recent addition includes M.A.C Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Light As Air (a very light, smooth sky blue); Industry (somehow I regretted buying this one because it does not compliment my eyes AT ALL - a very shady hue of gray); Bordeauxline (a fun deep fuschia which seems much more lighter than the actual colour on the pencil); Forever Green (does the name say it all? It's sort of a disgusting poo colour but when applied with gold shimmer eyeshadow it leaves a really nice mixture of dark marine on the lids) and Engraved (obviously a very dark goth black shade for daily wear!), M.A.C Eye Kohl in Phone Number (a dark gray almost black shimmer hue); Minted (a dark, cool aqua teal) and Smolder (shouts black, black, black) and Dior Show Waterproof Eye Liner in Noir (Black, need I say more?). When I grow short of eyeshadow (or get bored) I normally just colour my upper lids with eye kohl - a nifty trick I taught myself since I started using coloured eye pencils! The colours seem deeper, brighter and more intense too especially when shadows and pigments really dont work and the colours look so dull at times without primer on.

P/S to self: Need to get hands on the new M.A.C Dual-Edge Eye Pencils before they run out of stock AGAIN!

Powder?

Currently I've only got the M.A.C Fafi Iridescent Pressed Powder in Verve-acious. I was not even there to choose it because Mum bought the set for me and the lady at the counter told her that if I had a tan skin tone this colour would be best (an intense yellow gold with gold pearl). It makes my face shimmer too much in the sun so I try not to apply powder to my face during the day time nor do I at night (because I am such a bore and I dont do night outings!)

Money Matters
How much do you spend a month on makeup?
I dont spend on makeup every month! That's absurd. I wish I could though cause life would be so much more colourful with 10 makeup bags full! (Wanders off in glee)

How much would you pay for lipstick?
Oh well that depends. If the lipstick is really expensive and I have wads of dough with me then why not spend? And logically if I have no money at all to spend on, I just sit at home quietly until someone brings the matter of shopping up. But then again, what's there to shop in Miri for makeup when everytime you visit the makeup counters, you see the same thing day in, day out! Better no need!

How much do you think all your makeup is worth?
I dont know! Probably more than what it is. I've come across individuals who don't touch their makeup at all and save it up for a rainy day, or so they claim. And I, I just down them all as soon as I get my hands on new colours! Why save when in the end they just turn out to be yucky, expired and colourless?

Is makeup what you spend most of your money on?
Absolutely yes and no. I spend on makeup when I'm out of town and I buy maybe one or two lip glosses/lip sticks around town when I find rare finds (like my Dior Spy Shadow Palette) but other than that, I think I invest all my money on DVDs, cheap quality ones.

Would you ever consider plastic surgery if it was free?
Lol of course. I would even spend on plastic surgery if I had the money to! Why not? There's this saying "The other girl who says shit about you says you're fake, from your necklaces down to your boots. You top her though cause she can't even afford fake boobs!". Dont that seem nice? YET AGAIN, I WOULD PAY FOR PLASTIC SURGERY, like it or not. Everyone wants to change at least something with their physical appearance and if it's a crime, go run a protest against plastic surgeons. On a different note, I dont think plastic surgery in Malaysia is illegal anymore because everyone seems to be going to Dr _______ all the time and his office seems to be occupied with celebrities :s BIG YAY!

And the truth under makeup ....
Do you think makeup makes you look prettier?
Why of course otherwise I wont bother taking up so much of my time just applying makeup on. I would have not even posted this up if I had nothing in my makeup bag! Makeup makes everyone look prettier and surreal. I disagree with anyone saying that makeup makes a person look fake or unnatural. Everyone is beautiful naturally, it just takes really talented ones to know how to enhance, play and slap on makeup!

What is the one makeup accessory you could not live without?
What if I say EVERY SINGLE MAKEUP ACCESSORY? Makes sense? I cannot possibly imagine life without everything in my makeup bag. Okay I change my mind. I cannot imagine life without concealer and mattifiers.

There you go. No tough questions, nothing! Easy peasy and I surfed through it pretty well this time around too. Haha. I hope everyone who loves makeup enjoyed reading the post because if you haven't then you would not have reached this part on the bottom unless you skipped really boring parts where pictures dont exist. How dyslexic is that!
